Marcus Collins leads the sampleworks team, developing generative AI and machine learning methods to explore protein structural ensembles alongside experimental data. Trained as a physicist, he earned his PhD at Cornell studying proteins under high pressure using X-ray crystallography and later conducted membrane biophysics research at the University of Washington. Before his current role, he worked in machine learning at startups, Microsoft, and Amazon, including as an ML technical lead on protein-focused projects.
