James Fraser
Professor – UCSF, Bioengineering & Therapeutic Sciences
James Fraser, PhD, is the Ernest L. Prien Professor and Chair of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences at UCSF, where his lab develops experimental and computational methods to understand protein conformational dynamics. As a collaborator with Prism, he brings expertise in room-temperature X-ray crystallography, structural ensembles, and protein function. He earned his Ph.D. at UC Berkeley, where he pioneered approaches for extracting functional motions from X-ray data, and later began his independent career at UCSF.
